Explorer View is a very interesting add-on for your Windows Explorer. It adds a feature often present in some open source explorers like Konqueror or Nautilus, mainly under Linux. With Explorer View, you can get a lightning fast preview of many file formats: Word/PDF/Text documents, Excel Spreadsheets, and even multimedia files like audio or video ones.
The good part is that this program offers various options to enhance the viewing experience: for example, the possibility to view the Excel spreadsheets as hexadecimal text, to copy contents, and a complete feature to find contents using some criteria. Images can be rotated, zoomed, and printed, and audio files can be played.
Please note that as any Explorer Addon, it is recommended to start it automatically when Windows starts. Moreover, this behavior implies a constant memory usage (in my case it is about 7MB), take this into account before using it.
Maybe a major drawback consists in the 30-day trial period. But of course, if you liked the software, you can buy it at any time. |
- Very handy and time-saving!

- It uses quite a lot of space in the Explorer Window, sometimes you need it. You can hide it nevertheless.
